The Burning Mill Distillery is a rye whiskey distillery based in Shawnigan Lake, Vancouver Island. The distillery is located near a mill that burned down in the 1950s on the north side of the lake. The logo is made of two main elements, the saw, which represents the mill, and the fire inside the saw which represents what happened at the wood mill in Shawnigan Lake. The name of the distillery is also inspired by the history of its environment, the colours – dark greens, bright oranges – reflect the contrast of the forest and the fire that sealed the mill’s fate.
